Tanya, how did you know Danielle was “The One?”
As soon as I met Danielle at our orientation for our nursing jobs I just felt this strong pull towards Danielle like she was gonna be a huge part of my life it was crazy! She quickly became my best friend and partner and I knew I couldn’t live this life without her. She made me more happy than anyone has ever made me feel and pushed me to accomplish my dreams like no other.
Danielle, how did you know Tanya was “The One?”
I walked into orientation (probably as the last one because I was so comfortable with this orientation process as it was my 3rd time at this orientation) and once I sat down, within a couple of minutes, the computer instructor started to ask each person to introduce themselves- where they were from, which hospital they will be at and their favorite thing to do with their time off. When I heard Tanya- I looked over, saw her and had an instant attraction. And of course she says she is from San Diego and loves to spend her time off by taking her dog to the dog beach. I was thinking- San Diego, of course- she looks like a beach goddess lol and of course she loves dogs! Can she be any better??? Lol and then she said she was going to be working at Fontana (the facility that I was NOT working at) and I was super bummed. After a few days of orientation and us both circling around the fact that we were both interested- we sat across from each other in class and just kept making each other laugh and smile and I was amazed at how myself I could be with a stranger. We kept getting in trouble for talking when we shouldn’t have and it almost felt like we were kids in high school which was a feeling I had not felt in a long long time. After this class we were required to go to a computer lab to complete our pre-work for our nursing jobs-she had to stay to take a test and I went off to the computer lab and made sure to get a computer in the back with two spots (one on each side of me)- one computer was broken so I literally turned into an instant tech geek and troubleshot it and restarted it to make sure she had options- I was determined for her to sit next to me. So what happens- 5 minutes later, she walks in and sits next to me. My heart jumped with excitement. This was very weird for me and I do nottttt fall for people easily. We talked the whole time and by the end of class she said if I was ever in San Diego we should hang out- so I took this opportunity to get her number. And from there on- every time we hung out I just knew she was the one. I had NEVER been able to feel myself and so comfortable with anyone. It was like my soul just knew she was the one from the beginning and kept pulling me towards her.
Why did you decide to get married in Hawaii – and specifically why did you choose Sunshower?
We chose a destination wedding mostly because it was easier than inviting a ton of people that we weren’t super close with. We wanted to keep it intimate with our closest friends and family that were dear to our hearts. We loved Sunshower because we had the option to have our wedding outside and barefoot if we chose 🙂 We wanted to feel as close to nature as we possible could because we love to spend our free time together caught up in nature outside. We loved that we could take pictures with the goats/coffee and how relaxed the vibe was with venue.
Literally- it was so random- I mentioned it and Tanya looked it up and BOOM, here came Sunshower Farms. And we booked it because it was so beautiful and we didn’t want a typical beach wedding. The thought of a coffee farm was perfect to us.
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
Tanya: Having all our close friends and family who have made a huge impact on our relationship in one place to celebrate us
Danielle: AUNTY TUTU- she did a great job in filling in all the awkward times in between (since everybody showed up early lol) and when people were running late and her energy just radiated through the crowd.
What was your favorite wedding detail?
Tanya: Aunty Tutu being able to help post pone the wedding a little bit while we waiting on a few people to show up late. She gave the sweetest speech and sang and was able to entertain the crowd on a whim
Danielle: Other than aunty tutu at the ceremony- definitely the beautiful decor that hector set up. It just added so much to the magical evening. The bonfire was also an awesome finishing touch
Any advice for future couples?
Tanya: Relax and everything will fall into place! And if doesn’t, let it go and just enjoy the moment with your dear ones. It’s just ONE day and its okay that things don’t go perfectly. You have the rest of your life together! You’ll laugh later and how much stressed about all the little things and how you wished you didn’t.
Danielle: Do not stress like I did lol It will all turn out beautiful, regardless. It is your wedding day after all and you are marrying the love of your life and to be honest- even if the entire wedding went an entirely different way than planned- It still would have been the best day of my life.
Funniest memory from your wedding day?
Tanya: The lamb in the middle of the ceremony making sure we all knew she was there. Kate told Thomas “don’t put her down” and as soon as Kate walked away for a second he put the lamb down and she took off so fast and they took off after her. Thank goodness they were able to catch her quickly!
Danielle: OMG- the lamb. Even though I was stressed about this at the time, it is funny to me because it is typical of Thomas to be the one to let the lamb go after being told not to. The fact that he got all dirty catching the lamb was also funny because it just all fits his personality lol
If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
Tanya: Not a single moment 🙂
Danielle: No. Not a single moment. I replay the day over and over and over in my head and I just wish we could relive moments like those- I am glad I soaked it all in and remembered every little piece of that day.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We plan on going to the Philippines or Bali for our honeymoon later this year
